The VDA 6.3 auditing standard developed into an influential quality management standard in the automotive industry after its launch in 1998 and subsequent revision in 2010 — not only in Germany, but also all around the world. After Germany (4,599), China (3,536) is the country with the most certified VDA 6.3 process auditors. OEMs and suppliers now use this process audit internally, and also require their suppliers to conduct VDA 6.3 audits. After the revision, the Quality Management Center of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA QMC) now presents its new, updated audit standard as a yellow volume.
